Google Business Profile

Google My Business (GMB) as most of us know it, was renamed Google Business in 2023 and primarily helps businesses manage their online presence on Google Search and Maps. While it doesn't directly facilitate website creation, businesses can use GMB to provide essential information like hours of operation, contact details, and photos. Additionally, Google offers a feature called "Website" within GMB, allowing businesses to create a simple website for free using the information they've provided.

These websites are basic but can be a convenient way for small businesses to establish an online presence quickly. They typically include essential details like business name, location, contact information, and a brief description. However, for more robust and customizable websites, businesses often turn to dedicated website builders or platforms.

Google Business Profile's website feature is designed for businesses to quickly create a basic online presence using information from their Google My Business profile. It's streamlined and focuses on essential business details.

On the other hand, Google Sites is a separate platform that allows users to create more fully-featured and customizable websites. It's a broader tool suitable for various purposes, such as personal websites, project documentation, or collaborative sites. Google Sites provides a range of templates and allows users to add different types of content, including text, images, and embedded Google Drive files.

In summary, Google Business Profile's website feature is specific to business information and is quick and straightforward, while Google Sites offers a more versatile website-building platform with greater customization options.

Google Sites is free to use. It is part of Google's suite of productivity tools, and users can create and publish websites without any cost. Google Sites provides templates and a user-friendly interface for building websites, making it accessible for various purposes, such as personal websites, project documentation, or collaborative platforms.
